The Scientific Council is the Institute's decision making, initiating, opinion giving and advisory body in the scope of its statutory operations and in issues of development of scientific and research & technical staff.

The Council is authorized to present its positions in any cases referring to the Institute.

The Council may apply to the Institute supervisory body and to other state bodies according to their competences with opinions and requests in any cases referring to the Institute's operations and situation. The Council notifies the Institute's Director on any such actions undertaken by the Council.

In accordance with the statutes of the National Institute of Telecommunications tasks of the Scientific Council are defined in the Act on Research & Development Centers and regulations adopted by the Council.
