An essential part of activities of the National Institute of Telecommunications are contacts with foreign research institutions and an international cooperation. A particularly important aspect is the Institute's participation in European projects of a long-term nature, and especially its activity in international institutions.

• International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Austria;
• University of Barcelona, Spain;
• University of Nottingham, UK - organization and conduct of second degree studies in the field of telecommunications: MSc in Electromagnetics Design by Research;
• The International Union of Radio Science (URSI) - activities of URSI Commission D: Electronics and Photonics;
• International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Italy - organization and conduct of advanced studies on wireless telecommunications for young scientists from developing counties (since 2008).
