NIT participates in the following projects:

  • Information System Concerning Broadband Infrastructure and the ’Broadband Poland’ Portal – SIPS (2009-2013) is realized within the Innovative Economy Programme, Priority 7 The information society – establishment of electronic administration. The aim of the project is to create countrywide data communication infrastructure to support state and local authorities in the management and co-ordination of projects related to building regional broadband networks. It concerns both core and access networks, and areas where intervention of authorities is necessary. In the project, which is realized in partnership, the NIT (leader) was responsible for the development and maintenance of database containing information about existing national broadband infrastructure whereas the Office of Electronic Communications was organizing Broadband Poland portal and Ministry of Administration and Digitization coordinated activity on establishing the necessary legal acts. As a result of the Project, the Broadband Infrastructure System was built and tested in NIT. The System serves for gathering, processing and making accessible information about telecommunications infrastructure, public telecommunications network and buildings, enabling its collocation as well.   • Information System of National Protection Against Extraordinary Risks – ISOK (2009–2013). The project is co-financed by the European Union in Innovative Economy Programme, priority 7 The information society – establishment of electronic administration. The aim of the project is to develop the shield system to protect society, economy and environment against extraordinary risks, by development of electronic information platform, with necessary referential registers which will be constituting a tool for crisis management. The project is realized by a consortium with the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (leader), National Water Management Authority, the Main Office for Geodesy and Cartography and The Government Centre for Security.   • Future Internet Engineering – IIP (2010–2013). The project led by Warsaw University of Technology and granted by Structural Fund is realized in a consortium with NIT, Wrocław University of Technology, Poznań University of Technology, Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center, The Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Silesian University of Technology, Gdańsk University of Technology and AGH University of Science and Technology. More than 120 researchers are involved in the project. The aim of the project is two-fold: on the one hand, the investigations on IPv6 aim at hastening IPv6 start in Polish national network by developing tools for smooth replacement of current version of IP (IPv4) by the IPv6 protocol and by proposing new network solutions and services resulting from IPv6. On the other hand, the project develops an innovative architecture based on resource virtualization, which is fully integrated in the framework of the Future Internet Initiative prevailing in Europe networking research. The scope of the project is the development and implementation of the necessary algorithms and network mechanisms in order to create a platform where it would be possible to build different networks, each of them with its own technology: Quality of Network IPv6 network, Content Aware Network, Data Stream Switching. This way, the project partners build a national test network environment for the IPv6 Internet and Future Internet, enabling research and development activities basing on the experimental verification.   • Computer platform for propagation analysis, electromagnetic compatibility and optimization of wireless networks in telecommunication and data communication systems – PIAST (2010–2013). The aim of the project is to develop and establish the computerized software system (including hardware clients-server architecture), which can be used by NIT experts for research activities, other academic institution for educational purposes and other companies and individuals accessing the free available project Web page and tools for tutorial and other purposes.Project leader: Dr Janusz Sobolewski; www.piast.edu.pl

 

The realisation of the following project has been accoplished:

  • Project Development and Introduction of Interlaboratory Comparison System for Electrical Measurement Laboratories in Poland within Action 1.1.2 SPO-WKP: "Support for business environment institutions and their networks".
    The Project is being implemented by a consortium, inluding mostly National Economic Chamber of Electronics and National Institute of Telecommunications.
  • Project Upgrade and acquisition of specialized equipment by the Laboratory of Electrical, Electronic and Opto-electronic Measurements within Action 1.4.2 SPO-WKP: "Investments related to construction, upgrades and equipping of laboratories providing specialized services for businesses, carried out by scientific centers".
    The Project is being implemented by National Institute of Telecommunications.
  • Project Network of cooperation in broadband access technologies for the Mazovia region (structural funds for Mazowieckie voivodship) within Action 2.6 ZPORR: "Regional Innovation Strategies and Transfer of Knowledge".
    The Project is being implemented by National Institute of Telecommunications.
  • Project Network of cooperation in broadband access technologies for the Podlaskie region (structural funds for Podlaskie voivodship) within Action 2.6 ZPORR: "Regional Innovation Strategies and Transfer of Knowledge".
    The Project is being implemented by National Institute of Telecommunications.
  • Project Network of cooperation in broadband access technologies for the Łódzkie region (structural funds for Łódzkie voivodship) within Action 2.6 ZPORR: "Regional Innovation Strategies and Transfer of Knowledge".

  • Project Network of cooperation in broadband access technologies for the Pomorskie region (structural funds for Pomorskie voivodship) within Action 2.6 ZPORR: "Regional Innovation Strategies and Transfer of Knowledge".
