ICTON 2009 Workshop SARDANA-BONE on:

Next generation FTTH PONs and converged access/metro networks

Sardana is a "Scalable Advanced Ring-based passive
Dense Access Network Architecture" project,
an example of a next generation PON.
BONE stands for "Building the Future Optical Network
in Europe". The core activity of the BONE-project is the stimulation
of intensified collaboration, exchange of researchers and integration
of activities and know-how into and amongst partners in the areas of: Network
Technologies, Services and Applications, Access Networks, Optical Switching
Systems, Transmission Techniques and In-building Networks.
The suggested workshop topics include but are not limited to
the following:
- WDM-PONs
- Optically amplified extended PONs
- Technologies for advanced ONUs
- Static versus reconfigurable PONs
- QoS and DBA in TDM-PONs, WDM-PONs, OCDMA-PONs and OFDMA-PONs
- Techno-economic and service models
- Metro-access convergence
