  • (Z-1) Radio Communications Department

    conducts work on systems, networks and devices in the following fields: mobile land radio communications, radio broadcasting, satellite radio communications.

  • (Z-2) Networks Department
  • (Z-3) Internet Architectures and Applications Department
    is conducting research and development (R&D) concerning new architectures of telecommunication networks (DiffServe, NGN and Future Internet), an analyze and research of telecommunication protocols efficiency, an application areas of Internet and planning and dimensioning of telecommunication networks. Department of Z-3 is also involved in the following R&D areas: construction of TestBeds and testing new solutions, making prototypes of new network solutions, creating tools for simulation of telecommunication systems and conducting research by simulation of that systems, and also – in R&D connected to designing, implementation, testing and remote access to virtual resources of testbeds.
  • (Z-5) Power Systems Department

    works on communication power engineering, including concepts of power supply systems and power devices for telecommunications sector.

  • (Z-6) Advanced Information Technologies Department

    deals with preparation and implementation of scientific and research works on development of information systems referring to: distributed data communications systems, theory of design, control and analysis of data communications networks and decision support systems, intelligent systems and knowledge management.

  • (Z-8) Marine Communications Department

    conducts scientific, research and development works on maritime communications and radio communications, telecommunication services, traffic engineering in telecommunication networks, design and implementation of access networks.

  • (Z-10) Electronic Communications Technologies Applications Department

    conducts scientific & research work, performs analyses, evaluations, network quality assessments, prepares technical specifications, designs and software related to: microprocessor and microcomputer controlled devices, preprocessing systems, monitoring, traffic engineering for telecommunications services as well as data communications, corporate networks and network technologies. It performs implementation, marketing, installation, service and training activities.

  • (Z-11) Regulation and Economic Issues Department

    conducts research on shaping telecommunications and postal policy and regulations in Poland in the context of international experiences, with particular focus on policies of the European Union; examines economic and legal conditions for provision of telecommunication and postal services; analyzes development of telecommunications and postal markets as well as tariffs and costs of telecommunications and postal services.

  • (Z-12) Central Chamber for Telecommunications Measurements
  • (Z-14) Transmission and Optical Technologies Department

    conducts scientific, research and implementation works pertaining to issues of a advanced optical communications. In particular it performs research on ultra-fast transmission in terabyte optical transparent networks, wavelength multiplexing (DWDM and CWDM) in optical access networks, non-linear optical effects, application of innovative photonic crystal technologies, micro-structured optical fibers and quantum communications, methods for measurement and compensation of fiber polarization mode dispersion (PMD), reliability of optical components and networks, implementation of optical IP networks, assurance of Quality of Service (QoS) and convergence of broadband wireless and optical networks.

  • (Z-21) Electromagnetic Compatibility Department

    conducts scientific, research and development work in the scope of: electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of systems and devices, radio and television networks, protection against radio interference; radio communication, radio broadcasting and television antennae, radio feeder lines; measurements of transmit and receive antennae; phenomena and mechanisms resulting in exposure to electromagnetic radiation, evaluation and qualification of threat for the environment. In addition it conducts works and has authorization to approve designs of antenna supporting structures. This department includes also Laboratory for Testing of Electromagnetic Interference and Resistance to Interference and Laboratory of EMC Measurement Devices.
